FTP Accounts
Learn more about what FTP is, what it does and what is the benefit of using multiple FTP Accounts.
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol – en extremely popular way to upload and download web files between a computer system and a server. Using an FTP software program like FileZilla or CuteFTP, you can establish a connection to the server and view its content in one pane, while the files on your PC will be displayed in another pane within the program window. All you will have to do to send files or whole folders in either direction is to mark them and then to drag them from one pane to the other. File Transfer Protocol is used by plenty of users because you can create different FTP accounts and each one can be limited to access just one directory on the server, so a designer, for instance, can do their job without being able to access any other directory in the website hosting account. Furthermore, the availability of different FTP accounts will also allow you to build numerous Internet sites using web design applications such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver and to upload them to their corresponding directories on the server.
FTP Accounts in Web Hosting
You can create as many FTP accounts as you like with each of the web hosting offered by us, since we have chosen not to limit this functionality. In this way, you can manage numerous Internet sites all at once or grant other people access to different directories. As soon as a particular task has been accomplished and you don’t want that individual to be able to connect to your web files any longer, you can edit the password associated with the particular FTP account or you can just delete that account with a few clicks of the mouse and quit worrying about someone using it once again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all shared packages, will permit you to view the full list of the existing FTP accounts shown alphabetically. It takes only one click of the mouse to manage various options for any of them – to change the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.
